Persona - Persephone Cocktail

I was given complete creative freedom to design a can label for the fictional brand “Persona”. They specialize in creating cocktails inspired by Greek Gods while representing different social justice issues.

For this project, I wanted to illustrate the feminine experience. There was no one better I could think of to represent this then Persephone herself. A gorgeous goddess of spring with strong powers she didn’t even know she possessed. She was also stalked, trapped, kidnapped, and forced into a life she didn’t ask for and couldn’t control.

In the design you will see little eyes in all of the pomegranate seeds used to symbolize her being watched. You’ll notice her own vines strangling her wrists representing that suffocating feeling of being trapped.
